Structure
of the Sound of Website
and so on….
Remember the naming conventions and the rules about
Sonderzeichen. Please keep in mind that not everybody uses Windows as an
operating system when surfing the net. You should therefore restrict your
use of fonts to those fonts that can be read by all browsers under all
operating systems, namely Times New Roman and Arial. Don’t use too many and
“exotic” fonts. Keep everything simple and still try to make it attractive.
Working at home
If
you want to do some of the work at home, here’s what you can do:
Start your browser. Enter the following adress:
ftp://xxxxx@server.ng.s.bw.schule.de/. Enter the password when asked
and you are connected to the psoundof directory on the server. You can now
get all the files you nedd by simply using drag&drop.
Alternatively you can use an FTP-programm. If you haven’t got
one, you can download ws_ftp from the server. Start your browser and enter
the following adress:
ftp://xxxxx@server.ng.s.bw.schule.de. The password is
xxxxx. You
can now drag the file ws_ftple.exe to your desktop and install it on your
PC.
What your webpages should contain
Create an introductory page called _start.htm. This page
should tell the reader what to expect and make him curious about the topic.
Don’t forget to include links to the following pages. Make navigation easy
for the visitors.
All of your pages should contain text, pictures and links to
the internet. Texts shouldn’t be too long. Include sounds or videos where
appropriate. Keep in mind that a page shouldn’t contain too much data; if a
page is too “large” it takes very long to load.
